HorseGirlTV’s Angelea To Train In Holland With Anky van Grunsven

HUBERT, Nc June 22, 2009 Tune in. Tack up. is taking it to the next level with a ramped up shooting schedule. HorseGirlTV’s production crew has been working overtime shooting the series so its host, Angelea Kelly and her Contucci mare Carrara, could fly to The Netherlands this fall to train with the best rider in the world, Anky van Grunsven at her stable in Erp. Ever the maven, Angelea has been given a unique opportunity as a high tech working student contributing her decade of IT experience to Anky’s online community, HorsUs (http://horsus.ning.com/).

“It’s an incredible opportunity to not only train with the absolute best and experience life in Holland but an honor to be able to work with the HorsUs team. Everything Sjef and Anky produce, whether it be horses, apparel or online technologies it is always top quality so I’m excited to be part of such an all encompassing, forward thinking project as HorsUs,” Angelea states. Grinning she adds, “There’s lots of developing components of HorsUs I’m not able to talk about right now but having worked with online technologies and social networking since 1998 I can certainly tell you HorsUs will fast become the ‘it’ place online for horse enthusiast from all walks of life.”

HorseGirlTV will continue to launch its series the 1st and 15th of every month but its shooting schedule will slow in the absence of the shows host. Maintaining its focus on the hi tech horse world, HorseGirlTV will be shooting a webisode on location in Erp at the HorsUs offices giving viewers a sneak peak of what it takes to produce such a high scale project. Moreover as a web celebrity, Angelea will be in great company as HorsUs will be host to many ambassadors of the sport like Anky van Grunsven, Tim Lips (2008 Ranked 3rd at Aachen in Eventing), Jeroen Dubbeldam (Olympic Show Jumping Champion of 2000) , Ijsbrand Chardon (Multiple World Champion 4-In-Hand-Driving) with many American ambassadors in the line up too.

“I am very happy Angelea is going to work with us on this project for me. We in Erp are glad to have her networking expertise,” commented Sjef Janssen.

Two Dogs In Diapers!

June 17, 2009

It’s official, Zita is a woman (for a grown female dog!). Now we have two dogs in diapers, one that is paralyzed and the other having her period. Zoinks! Needless to say, Zita will be having her vet date scheduled ASAP. If having two dogs in diapers is this much trouble, I could only imagine what two kids in diapers would be like. Woah! I shudder the thought!

Regardless, this picture was just too cute of them both!

Games With Zita!

June 17, 2009

So I received this email last night with 4 pictures attached. Each picture had a caption and it was too cute not to post. This was after a long day of getting a horse settled at the farm and dealing with some icky North Carolina rain, rain, and more rain. 🙁 But hey… it rained ALL day yesterday and look how quickly it drained away! We have fabulous earth here! 🙂

HorseGirlTV was reviewed by a great new blogger who’s focusing (or so it seems thus far) on reviewing genre specific podcasts. Of course the blogger thought HorseGirlTV the best of them all! Yah! So if you guys have time, you should check out this new blog as you might learn some more about other types of podcast to find interesting!

Can’t Sleep? Count Sheep!

June 12, 2009

In starting this post I’ve, for the first time, wondered when do you start calling someone a friend instead of a colleague. It was with these last emails that I smiled when I moved Taber to my friend mailbox rather than colleague. I think it was my simple happiness for his iPhone app creation, happiness for a friend that did it.

Well all that babbling aside. My friend Taber (who’s a totally amazing designer BTW) created his first iPhone app and I actually bought my first iPhone app for a small .99! It’s adorable and functional all at the same time. Check out some iPhone screen shots below and you can buy it online at http://tinyurl.com/countsheep

Fun With Draper Family

June 5, 2009

To say I had a splendid time with the Draper Equine Therapy folks is an understatement of epic proportions! Kristin and Kat were AWESOME!!! They convinced me we should start the morning shoot with Waffle House instead of traditional craft services so we ventured out into the culturally sterile, Jacksonville. My, my what eclectic folks we have in NC!

img_1340-2

Of course what would breakfast be without a side of mayo! Yes. I did try it but I have to say I’m not a fan of mayo with my breakfast egg sandwich. I’m a coffee snob but everyone once and a while I do enjoy a cup of truck stop love watered down morning Joe!

On to the shoot which we were so wrapped up in convo and setting shots that we didn’t do any production promo picts so… you’ll just have to wait for the webisode to launch to see the interview!

But then there was the tourist trip to seaside Swansboro for a late lunch, ice cream adventure and looking at all the trinkets you could possibly want. For those of you that don’t know, I’m a minimalist so shop after shop of trinkets and chotskis was my equivalent to a living hell on earth! BUT, I did tag along and thoroughly enjoyed Kat’s modeling ability for the über odd gift shop items.

All in all it was one of my more favorite connections with the shows guests! I love all my interviews but these gals were a complete hoot not to mention the technology behind their products is way cool and progressive!!

Finally, here’s a cute snap of Kristin and Kat aboard the ski chair in quaint Swansboro! Thanks for coming ladies! I had a blast and you should definitely come back if you can swing it!!! Next time tho, bring monkey and we’ll adorn him with some HorseGirlTV gear!

Ride For Life!

May 29, 2009

I had a rocking interview with Barbara Strawson (International Rider & Trainer) who was so kind as to take time away from her CDI in Raleigh to come out to the farm and talk with me! Wow! She was awesome and I discovered quite a bit more about what a great event the Ride For Life is. They raised over $80,000 last year for breast cancer and hope since it tis their 6 year anniversary well… 6 years = 6 figures! I really hope they can pull in over $100,000.

Check them out online if you get a chance at http://www.pvdarideforlife.org/ and here’s a sweet pict with me and Barb post shoot! Oddly enough the colors were amazing and this image is NOT photoshopped! Wow!

Thanks HorseLink!

May 22, 2009

Wow. I thought it was kewl for Trail Rider to promo HorseGirlTV and BluHorse in their print mag. It’s just too fab that we’re in their e-zine! The publishing world is fast changing and I’m so happy and honored to be along for the ride and help the shaping of it! Check out the page online at HorseLink Magazine. My only beef, they do need to turn down the preset audio a tiny bit on the autoplay commercial. Here’s the screen capture!

HorseGirlTV will actually have some commercial segments in this magazine as well. Our latest episode on muscle care will be done in 30 second spots to highlight the awesome Absorbine Vet Lin products.

Just so much fun stuff happening!

June Production Schedule

May 21, 2009

I have a pretty busy production schedule for June to dial in all the webisodes I’ve been wanting to do for a while now. By the end of this month, we’ll be locked on with our line up of shows through the end of this year. This is great as it frees up the bulk of my time to ride and prepare for relocating to Holland in mid/late August!

What is going into production this coming month? We’ll be sticking with the innovators theme and shooting an interview with Draper Equine Therapy (cool hi tech products for horse and human!), Brenderup highlights (my favorite things about my Brenderup Royal horse box), meeting with Frank & CeCe to delve into the artistry of musical freestyle creation and I’ll also be putting together a piece on bridle fit since I’m facing the challenge of the proper curb for Carrara right now. Also… I’m hoping to finish the court as well as the “how to build a function dressage court without paying thousands for a pre-fab” not to mention the very expensive freight associated with them all currently!

I’m looking forward to meeting everyone. Draper has their dates locked on and announced our upcoming interview in their newsletter today so I thought I should share.

June should be a fun and full month!
